Melty Blood blow out release!

Today at Revolve we are celebrating the release of Melty Blood Re-ACT in Japan! Today we have a line up of 3 different Melty Blood releases! A newly updated Melty Blood FR Menu patch, Melty Blood Trial version 3 [full release], and Melty Blood ReACT 12/30 demo [full release]. Thanks to some ingenuity on my part, the Trial 3 demo is about 120mbs less in size then its Japanese version (excessive amounts of uncompressed bitmaps and useless data). So if you’ve got the First Release of Melty Blood, try the new English patch (no dialog yet, sorry again!), if you want to give Melty Blood a try out, download either of the demos!

We won’t distribute the full game, so don’t ask about it ANYWHERE in Revolve territory!

Here are some of the best Bittorrent clients to use if you are not familiar with the software: Offical, BitTornado (Shadow's Experimental), Azureus, and ABC.

If you do not have a rar client, please download WinRAR.

(TheXev personally recommends Azureus, but everyone has preferences).

After demand has calmed down, I’ll post the patch on the website. Until then, please get the patch on Bittorrent and IRC. I’ll be seeding the patch on Bittorrent constantly, so there should always be a download. Please seed the patch (and especially the demos!) for as long as you can!

Please right click on the links, and choose "save as..."
Anyone knowing how to fix this in HTML, please contact TheXev or comment on it! ^_^;

404ed!

Fixed Melty Blood patch links on the download page. If anyone is still having issues downloading the Melty Blood patch, please leave a comment on this news post, or drop into the IRC channel.

Also, I did a nearly final update to the Melty Blood English online manual. It is pretty much in the condition it will be in for the next patch.

Information overload

It was suggested last week in the admin forums that we at Revolve create this massive update, with updated information on all Revolve projects, including the official announcements of new projects. Yes, secret project is at the very bottom of this series of post.

Arcturus - Idle - AznTyrant2564 has been unable to translate any more script. The project will remain idle for now, but Azn insist he'll be working on it again by the end of this month.

Farland Symphony - Idle - Staled due to translator woes. We require translation power to finish this project, so please email Soulfang if you are willing to help.

Melty Blood - in progress - We are working on a new patch that was planed to be released this week, but will most likely be pushed back until sometime the following week. This patch will revise the stage names, fix up the warning screen, and fix a few misc typo's and missed strings in the game.

Melty Blood revision 3 demo - in progress - after finding this new demo of Melty Blood, I have decided to insert our translation into it. This demo will be released in its entirety and will be free to distribute. The main reason for releasing this demo is to offset the request in the channel for "where can I download Melty Blood." Melty Blood is still in print and very easy to find, so please support Type-Moon and Watanabe Works by purchasing a legitimate copy!

Melty Blood ReACT demo - In progress - this was promised some time ago, but should be released the same day as our English 3 patch and the Melty Blood demo.

Super Robot Wars Alpha - Idle - Soulfang does not plan to resume work on this until Farland Symphony is completed.

New Project, Touhou Suimusou, Immaterial and Missing Power demo - in progress - I decided to pick up this fun little fighter after seeing it on 4chan awhile back, and seeing that it was extremely easy to hack. The other games in the series are also quite fun, as Touhou Suimusou is a series of shooting games. Not sure when we plan a release of this demo. The full version of the game will be released this summer.

New Project, Vagrants - In progress/Idle - Soulfang and Gavionne's new pet project that was recommended to us by Alerith. An interesting game from Studio E-go, the makers of "Men At Work!" series of H-games among others, featuring a great battle system and some neat character designs that are common of Studio E-go games. Gavi and Soul are working the kinks out of the scripting tools, but after that is done it will be stalled due to lack of translation power.

Revolve is starved for translation power, so please email Soulfang or myself if you can volunteer any time for any of the projects we are working on!

Now for the project everyone on IRC knows about, and people in the forums have been speculating about. I am proud to announce Tsukihime is indeed the secret project I've been working on in the background. Please read on for screen shots and additional information.

Why so much secrecy over a game like this? Why not just announce the project? The answer is simple; I wasn't ready to put the project into the lime light. If you didn't witness the numbers of people that were on Bittorrent during the Tsukihime anime release, you should easily be able to tell that people are going to care about seeing this game in English, a lot. I'm still not sure what the masses reaction will be to this project, but I hope most of it will be positive.

Yes, this project will be playing second in priority to Melty Blood for awhile. Yes, this project will require the most in-depth translation of any fan translated game to date. Yes, when it's done, it is quite likely that Tsukihime+, Kagetsu Toyha, and Kara no Kyoukai could all be translated via the same means. That is a lot of yeses, and Tsukihime fans are crazy about every detail of the series.

Tsukihime is the game that vaulted Type-Moon into fame in Japan in 2000, selling in numbers that can never accurately be recorded. Tsukihime is the very definition of what all other digital novels are measured by, and as such, should receive the most accurate and well thought translation possible. The script is huge, weighing in at nearly 4MB's of raw text. What does that mean in simple terms? The game of more then novel length, with such famous English literary novels as David Copperfield being about 2MB's, and Great Expectations about 1MB. Although Tsukihime's size includes all scripting commands, it is still quite long without them. Also, do to the seemingly random nature of the scripting language. the text is hardly in a discernable from any beginning to end, so the intro is, for example, is stuffed near the end of the script (most likely because it was done last) while the prolog is somewhere in the middle. Sorting out what parts of the script are where will take time, as there might even be text that belongs to paths that never existed!? Also, a strong debate on what to do with regards to the Hisui path will have to be had, as the final patch disables this path (while fixing `typos,` strange).

I would like to thank EvoSpace for the translations he has provided on his website and I have used here (with his permission). He's very busy these days, so it is unlikely he will be able to translate any more.

Here are some screenshots from hacking I had done three months ago, this is using a `fixed` TTF, but hopefully I wish have resolved this issue before any final patch release.
