Translators needed!

We really need more hands in translation over here. Arcturus Chinese game isn't quite up to par in terms of the original Korean text. So I'm thinking that we might have to idle the project for a while unless we can get a new Translator. And I would hate to do this too you guys right after we update the Arcturus section. If you can translate Japanese or Korean at a reasonable speed, send me an email or join the chat room so we can keep Arcturus on the move. If we idle Arcturus I'll be putting more effort into keeping the other projects going and maybe we will start a smaller project. Or we can just keep working on Arcturus the way it is, but I fear some original meaning might be lost. I'm not sure right now. But wish us luck!

Btw, we don't just need translators for Arcturus; we need assistance on most everything else, namely Farland Symphony.

Farland back on track, SRWA dropped

Well, Farland Symphony is back on track after Clessy got me to get started again. Except some new progress screenshots soon. Also, SRWA has been dropped after like 2 years of little progress. The game is a cinch to hack for anyone else who wants to give this a whirl.

Well then -- until next time!

The Melty Blood situation, fully explained...

Well, after many positive and negative comments, and some incredible confusion and miscommunications, I suppose its time to clarify the reasons for the temporary halt. Some people seem to think that Revolve is out to stop piracy, and whine and bitch that their patch is being misused, but our patches have been misused before and it will definitely happen again. The torrent in question, that has since been taken down (thank you MrMann for understanding), was of concern because of (link now dead) the following commented lines available in it (it's gone, really). Although most people would probably not think that Revolve was in any way involved with this torrent, the comments could easily be misinterpreted as an endorsement by Revolve Translations. This alone is the reason for the actions I decided to take, and not the fact that the patch was included with the torrent. As you can understand, no one wants to be sued.

I must also apologize for posting the IP addresses of the users that were on this torrent. The original reasoning behind listing the IP's was to show the sheer number of people who were promoting this torrent and threatening the existence of this project. I do agree though, that the listing of the IP's was a mistake, but as a mentioned in my final post on the forum before I locked the topic on the cancellation: "I've had too much on my own mind in real life because of my father being in the hospital, so my mind has hardly been on this entire situation." This listing was a lapse of judgment at the time, so I suppose accusations by a few individuals for trying to incite a DDoS attack may have been warranted.

The only action taken against those users was being banned from the website. The rest was, in all honesty, scare tactics. That's right, I only said it because I absolutely wanted Revolve's name off of that torrent at all cost, because I really didn't want to give up the Melty Blood project. Think of me as a bastard fool for all I care, because I am a fool who's had a lot on his mind lately. I really want to finish Melty Blood to prove to anyone and everyone that Revolve is capable of completing a project. I love the game, a lot, and I want myself and others to be able to enjoy the game in English.

Now that everything is finally out in the open, I expect some people to lose a great deal of respect for me and Revolve. Place any feelings over this matter directly on me, as it was my choice in the first place to do all of this. I felt this was the best course of action, although some people will say I should have simply let the matter go to begin with.

I think the end result is clear though, Revolve does not endorse torrents of games, that are still commercially available or otherwise, that include Revolve patches along with them. All of our patches are designed to modify games. In all instances we encourage people (ourselves included!) to buy the legitimate copies of these games, although we can't stop them from doing otherwise.

Expect a revamped downloads page in the next few days with Melty Blood downloads included.

Updated the arcturus section

Hello! This is AznTyrant2564, I updated the arcturus section with some preliminary screen shots of the translation. Dont worry there will be an editor to edit the horrid grammar I have XD. This update is to show that I am working on it when I have time, so don't expect me to blaze through the scripts, there is too many of them and its like reading shakespare!

Melty Blood (temporarily?) canceled

Effective immediately, Melty Blood is canceled. Someone by the name of MrMann has placed a full distribution of Melty Blood on a ‘popular’ BitTorrent site, and as such I am forced to end the project for the immediate future.

This user has failed to understand the Terms of Service agreement set forth in readme.txt (Section II, paragraph 1, sentence 2) in Revolve’s MeltyBloodEnglish1.100E.001 patch. This is how the paragraph reads:

By installing this patch, you agree to the terms and agreement set forth in the text of the original Melty Blood, whatever their meaning may be. This software is designed as a patch for Melty Blood, and is not meant to be included with any legally or illegally produced CD. By installing this software, you agree that no members of Revolve Translations are liable for any damage incurred to any software or hardware that you own as a result of the installation and usage of this software.

The Melty Blood project will not be resumed until all seeds on this torrent have disconnected, or the torrent is removed from this popular torrent site. Some may not view it as fair, but I will do something to stop this misuse of our patch. Some people wondered what would happen if this situation ever occurred, now they know.

Further action against these users will be taken during the week, including being banned from the website, being reported for software piracy, and being reported to their internet service provider.

This torrent will be continuously monitored until the conditions have been met.

Please feel free to vent all frustrations at this user by following the forum link below.
